The oily oldie

Already the first ignition of the engine showes Nikos Jaguar Mark 2 has a serious problem. Despite reching operating temperature, the saloon does not show any oil pressure. Put on a hydraulic ramp it also becomes obvious why. Something is still running – but not the engine. It’s oil and plenty of it. Leaks are everywhere: oil filter housing, oil pipes, oil pan,... Surprisingly the oldtimer nevertheless does well in a compression test. Should the pistons still be okay after more than 50 years?

Check it out in the second episode of our series, when the old engine is disassembled.
