Serhat Mete's story with Scania is based on the "European Young Truck Driver" competition which is organized by Scania Global in 2005. Mete wanted to join play-offs in Turkey, but he could not attend because of the age barrier.
Serhat Mete bought the truck in 2005 as a new vehicle and since then has only carried out routine maintenance. "My father was a truck driver, we had other trucks before that," says Mete. "At that time I was studying business administration at Gazi University. I urged my father to buy the new Scania. At first I was co-driver with my father. After finishing my studies, I became a full-time driver. Since we got the truck, only routine maintenance work was done. No one has touched the engine".
From 2005 - 2009 the truck was used for international transports. After that and until today it has been used for the transport of fresh fruit and vegetables as a cold chain transport in domestic traffic.
Mete has already set itself a new goal: "We want to reach the 3 million kilometers without getting problems with the engine".
MPULSE wishes you a good journey at all times!
