A growing number of vehicles are on the road with an automatic transmission. Around 25 percent of new registrations in the EU are fitted with an automatic transmission - with numbers still rising.
And these vehicles need special service. More and more car and transmission manufacturers are moving away from lifetime fillings to regular or needs-based changes.
The reason is relatively simple: Modern automatic transmissions are more complex and more heavily loaded than in the past, and the mechanical and thermal demands on the transmission and transmission oil are increasing.
The higher wear and oil aging result in abrasion and dirt that disrupt the mechanics - from shift delays to the failure of entire gears. That's why timely transmission oil and transmission oil filter replacement by a professional is important.
MAHLE recommends changing them every 60,000 kilometers or every four years. This increases the service life and ensures smooth shifting.
A big plus for you and your customers
Professional oil service for an automatic transmission is more than "drain and fill".
This is because only 30 to 50 percent of the transmission oil is replaced during this so-called static oil change. The rest remains inside the system.
With the FluidPRO® ATX 250/280 flushing unit, on the other hand, you replace up to 100 percent of the oil. MAHLE also provides you with the appropriate transmission oil filters in original equipment quality for the service. Replacing the oil filter is crucial when changing the oil. This removes abrasion from the transmission and effectively protects it from damage.

The perfect start
The new ATX 250 and ATX 280 entry-level units are a further development of the successful MAHLE FluidPRO® ATX 150/180 series.
Thanks to their low price and ease of operation, you can easily enter the lucrative transmission oil service business. With both units, the flushing process runs fully automatically - without any manual intervention. Once the flushing process is complete, the hoses are also cleaned - also automatically. The numerous adapters cover around 80 percent of the most common automatic transmissions on the market.
Both units hold 25 liters of transmission fluid (ATF) and have a 500 milliliter reservoir for additives. A drainage grid for the oil pan and a practical hose tray simplify the work. Both units detect the direction of flow of the transmission oil in the transmission fully automatically.
Connectivity and remote maintenance
Our two newcomers FluidPRO® ATX 250 and 280 replace up to 100 percent of the oil in just one pass. This reduces service time to just 5 to 10 minutes.
Both units include a vehicle database as well as step-by-step instructions. You can connect the service station via WiFi and easily update its database and firmware. You can also print a final report directly from your workshop's computer as proof for your customer. And if there is a serious problem, a MAHLE technician can connect to the device via remote service and quickly provide technical assistance.
Another great feature: You can monitor the automatic transmission flushing unit with an app. Using a smartphone or tablet, you can keep an eye on the status of the device in the vehicle or display instructions directly. This is a great advantage if, for example, you have to shift through individual gears during the flushing process.
