Last race in Malaysia for Formula 1

Malaysia has been a firm fixture on the Formula 1 calendar since 1999. On 1st October, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen will compete here for the last time for the time being.

To date, the race at the Sepang International Circuit was often worth the journey: with seven wins, Scuderia Ferrari is not only the most successful manufacturer at the Grand Prix of Malaysia; Vettel and Räikkönen have also enjoyed success on the 5.54-kilometre track. And with a total of four wins, Sebastian Vettel is the most successful Formula 1 driver in the history of the Malaysian GP.

If the team and drivers can continue this positive record in 2017, it promises to be an exciting final third of the season. In the current driver standings, Kimi Räikkönen is in fifth place with 138 points; in second place, his German team-mate has picked up 235 points and is still within reach of the driver’s title. And Scuderia Ferrari is currently in second place in the constructors’ standings.

Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen will contest the 15th race of the season starting at 3:00 p.m. local time on Sunday 1st October. MAHLE Motorsport wishes Scuderia Ferrari all the best for a successful race weekend.
