Antonio Albacete, who drives for MAHLE Motorsport’s partner team Truck Sport Bernau, can look forward to a home race to bring this season’s FIA European Truck Racing Championship to a close.

The Truck Sport Bernau team has just one race weekend to go before the curtain falls on the 2017 season. The remaining four races all take place at the “Circuito del Jarama”, which is located very close to Antonio Albacete’s home city of Madrid.

A long straight aside, the 3.3-kilometre track consists largely of tight corners, which will put particular strain on the trucks’ brakes and tyres. As he can every year, Albacete will again be able to count on the support of his many countrymen at the circuit.

Ahead of the final race weekend of the season, MAHLE Motorsport’s partner team is currently fifth in the ETRC team competition with 303 points. Albacete occupies the same position in the Drivers’ Championship, in which he has 213 points to his name.

Albacete did claim a podium finish at the penultimate race weekend of 2017 in Le Mans. However, he was still not entirely content with the overall result. The Spaniard could have achieved far better results, had it not been for collisions that were no fault of his own and technical issues. Despite this, he still managed to finish in the points in each of the four races.

The races in Jarama start at 15:10 and 17:15 local time on Saturday, and at 12:45 and 15:30 on Sunday.
