BMW motorsport to set out on comeback trail in Budapest

After four of this season's 18 races, MAHLE Motorsport partner BMW Motorsport is poised to pounce in the DTM. The six BMW drivers have their sights set on picking up more points in the two races at the Hungaroring and making up ground in the DTM standings.

After a four-week break, the DTM enters its next round in Budapest this weekend. Timo Glock is the best-placed driver for MAHLE Motorsport partner BMW ahead of the touring car championship’s first overseas event of the year.

The BMW Team RMG driver is currently eighth in the Drivers’ Championship with 25 points. Glock has fond memories of the circuit in Budapest. It was here that he secured his first pole position as a Formula 1 driver.

Reigning DTM champion Marco Wittmann also enjoys his trips to Hungary. He won the 2014 race here, and was embroiled in a thrilling battle with Edoardo Mortara at the 4.381-kilometre circuit last year.

Last season, António Félix da Costa was the only BMW driver to make it onto the podium in third place.

MAHLE Motorsport technology will be on board each of the BMW M4 DTMs this year. The race on 17th June gets underway at 14:30, while the Sunday race begins at 15:00.
