One thing we’re sure about: the various degrees of drive and vehicle electrification will gain more widespread acceptance, depending on the vehicle class and its price sensitivity. After all, they are vitally important for improving efficiency! And MAHLE is leading the way in this trend too: with its comprehensive thermal management range, electric actuators, and auxiliary components. By the way: we have also had a long-standing presence with electric powertrains and electronics in countless series applications. And in terms of the further electrification of powertrains, we are already putting the pedal to the metal—efficiently, of course.
More mechatronics at MAHLE
It’s a simple formula: more electrification of the auxiliary components = lower fuel consumption + fewer emissions! And that’s precisely why we at MAHLE have been a driving force behind this trend for many years. Increasing electrification, however, also places high demands on mechatronic components such as starter motors, alternators, and electric motors. With MAHLE Letrika, we have become even better in this area. Since January 2016, MAHLE Aftermarket has been distributing the components for agricultural and construction machinery under the MAHLE Original brand.
At the same time, we have been able to expand our service: “Our aftermarket customers will also benefit from MAHLE Letrika’s integration in the MAHLE Group. The new group subsidiary is synonymous with long-standing product and service know-how in agricultural and construction machinery. With two benefits: first, an expanded product portfolio and, second, additional technical information and support, repair instructions, and training,” explains Olaf Henning, Member of the MAHLE Management Committee and Managing Director of MAHLE Aftermarket GmbH. “In the long term, our expertise with regard to engine components, filters, and turbochargers for trucks will complement MAHLE Letrika’s competence wonderfully.”
