In a class of their own: Neoclassics!

Full of character and suitable for everyday use. Neoclassics are making waves in the vintage car market. The perfect place to observe this trend is in Stuttgart/Germany from March 22 to 25. That’s where RETRO CLASSICS, the world’s largest vintage car fair, will be held—with 4,000 automotive legends. And this year, the focus is on neoclassics!

New is the new old

The vintage car scene is getting younger—and with good reason. Strictly speaking, vintage cars are pre-war vehicles. By now they are so old that, although they are still in working order, any kind of driving pleasure has fallen by the wayside. But this is just the kind of fun that many vintage car fans are looking for. They want to get behind the wheel of a car that has its own personality and is ready to run. And this is exactly what neoclassics have to offer.

“The new target group sees ownership of a classic car primarily as an expression of individuality. Road-ready vehicles like the Porsche 918 Spyder or the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG are therefore more than just a means of transportation. These cars are all about emotion!” says Karl Ulrich Herrmann, RETRO CLASSICS founder and managing partner of RETRO Messen GmbH.

But what exactly is a neoclassic?

Neoclassics, also known as newtimers, are vehicles that are up to 20 years old and are already considered classics, for example because of the low numbers that were built.
