Virtual reality and JP in person: Automechanika 2016

Infotainment at its best: at Automechanika 2016, visitors to the MAHLE stand were expecting a full product range—and a highly entertaining program. Tuning star JP from JP Performance presented his 500 hp Golf VII GTI; with the aid of virtual reality glasses, visitors could even experience a “live” test drive! The interior of a truck and a passenger car made of Plexiglas was on display for the whole world to see. And visitors could get a whiff of new innovations with the CareMetix® cabin air filter simulator. So it is no surprise that the MAHLE stands were extremely popular!

One of the main attractions of our 800 m2 stand was certainly the 500 hp Golf VII GTI from JP Performance, tuned using MAHLE pistons. Young visitors in particular listened to Jean Pierre Kraemer as he enthusiastically described and explained all of the car’s features to them, right down to the last detail. JP was really in his element and, in his interview, said that he was very excited about the keen interest showed by the young people. One of the highlights of the stand was the “test drive”—with a 360° video and virtual reality glasses.
